Progress on Alice in Wonderland Blocks

So, I'm sure no one else ever experiences (sense my voice dripping with sarcasm), but I was moving along through my baby blankets when fabric arrived in the mail box and I was totally distracted.  I gave into temptation (gasp) and put everything aside to work on my new project.  I ordered some Japanese "Alice in Wonderland" fabric that is beyond cute, and ordered some other prints to match.

Originally when I found the A in W fabric, I could buy 1/2 yards and yards - unfortunately I left it a little late and couldn't find it anywhere really except one site that sold scrap pieces - around 10" square.

So cue patchwork cuteness - I was thinking "improv" blocks, but since I planned these out, I guess it wouldn't count.

There are 9 blocks, all a little different.

I was very excited to use the Daiwabo elephants fabric!  Now when I ordered my scraps, there were only 8 pieces and I needed 9 squares.

Ta-da!  I just love, love, love this block which will be the center block.  I'm very proud of how well the seams lined up.

A little peak into my planning book (the scribbles won't make any sense) - between the blocks and around the outside will be white sashing.  I love it when the creative idea in my mind actually turns out.
