Another Christmas present - this time for my friend Su. I made patchwork pillowcases to cover the pillow forms she bought months ago, but has never gotten around to actually making cases for. I used the Candy Christmas fabric (I used the leftovers to make potholders).
I think these pillowcases are adorable and almost wish I had ordered enough fabric to make myself some. I love the colors.
These pillowcases, as well as the pillowcases made with Hope Valley, I machine sewed the binding to the back. This was mostly because I ran out of time, but I have to say, my skills have vastly improved. My only problem was my machine was skipping stitches - something is wrong with my baby :(
I quilted these pillows a little differently with two straight lines on each side of the seam. I saw that on Red Pepper Quilts a while ago and have been waiting to try it out. Because the quilting is doubled, the metallic gold thread really sparkles making it extra Christmas-y.
Well, I hope all of you, like me, are coming to a close on your Christmas projects. Although I guess it wouldn't be Christmas if we weren't madly crafting into the early hours of the morning right before Christmas :)
