Remember this quilt? Well, I have three nephews arriving in the next two months, and this one is the first of the bunch.
With my crazy hectic life, this quilt hasn't been given the tlc it needs and now I'm behind. And the baby was born today. And the baby lives overseas. Eek!
I toyed with the possibilities for quilting and originally wanted to mimick the circular pattern/waves. Once I practiced quilting it, I didn't love it. I also thought it would compete with the fabric and I wanted to emphasize the clean look of the window frames.
So Hello Straight line quilting - each line at 1/2" apart - not the fastest method, but it gets the job done and it looks good.
See - I'm almost finished - Hooray! I'm really hoping to have this bad boy in the mail in the next couple of days. Definitely by Friday.
There's always something I want to do. There is a family moving from Germany and starting fresh, so to match a cute little knitted dishcloth (darn, I was going to put that in the picture), I made a teatowel. Well, I guess I just upgraded the tea towel.
I love it! So much, I really don't want to give it away. Seriously. It's made with some charms of Sugar Creek that a friend sent me and those little charms were perfect! I cut the charms down to 4" and then in half. I needed 11 pieces (6 charms) to complete the bottom. It was finished so fast. Maybe if I make more sometime, I'll show how I did it.
